A Warrnambool Neighbourhood and Community Centre Initative - funded through the Victorian State Government's Commnity Food Relief Program
"Rustle Up - The Confidence to Cook Healthy Meals at Home"
is a practical hands-on 4 lesson micro-course introducing participants to the basic kitchen and cooking skills needed to start the journey of becoming a confident home cook - delivered in easy, practical bite-size chunks.
Food Security
Everyone is increasingly aware of rising prices of food and the pressure this can place on household budgets.  Confidence in the kitchen can lead to better food security outcomes for the home.
Nutrition Australia – in their 2020 Nourish ‘n’ Nurture – food literacy program manual recognises  “When people have greater cooking skills and confidence in their skills and abilities, they are better able to prepare and cook foods at home”
Participants
Our target audience for this program are people living in the Warrnambool region who have experienced food insecurity over the past 12 months and who have found it challenging to know how to create healthy home-cooked meals from available foods.

Participants will be selected from completed Participant Applications/Expressions of Interest.  Places are limited - so application is not a guarantee of receiving a place.

Preference will be given to those living in the East Warrnambool Area.
